EasyPliant and TaxRouter compared
EasyPliant or TaxRouter? Compare Stripe Billing data, validation, document exports and setup with your tax firm.
Choosing an approach

Consider EasyPliant if …
you want to prepare Stripe Billing data using adjustable posting rules and the documented validation workflow.
Consider TaxRouter if …
you want to prepare Stripe sales and payment data for monthly DATEV files. Check required document packages and subscription deferrals separately before choosing.
If your current workflow reliably covers the data, responsibilities and handoffs you need, this comparison alone is no reason to switch.

Individual review dates appear beside each criterion’s sources. Providers may change features, plans and requirements. Statements describe the specified scope and do not establish suitability for every case. Mentioning a provider does not imply a partnership.
Understanding costs
A lower starting price tells you little about total costs. Ask both providers to quote for the same sample month and the same tasks.
The same volume
Use the same orders, refunds, payments, accounts and companies. A transaction or booking is not necessarily an order; a single order can generate several billable movements.
The same responsibilities
Compare software together with any additional work needed from your bookkeeper or tax firm. Record who resolves missing data, reviews account mappings, imports files and handles filings.
The same terms
Ask about setup, historical data, extras, contract duration and cancellation. Compare all prices consistently before or after VAT and get the full scope confirmed in writing.
Before switching
Review a completed month with your bookkeeper. These steps apply regardless of which provider you choose.
Verify data coverage
Reconcile sales, refunds, fees and payouts with the original sources. Check every required country, currency and historical period; the existence of a connector does not establish complete coverage.
Test the handoff
Try the required files or transfer methods with your tax firm. Agree on accounts, tax codes, documents and open items, including how corrections will be handled.
Agree responsibilities and a cutoff
Record who reviews, books and files. Retain historical records and agree on the switchover month so no period is missed or processed twice.
